Herring Gut Learning Center is pleased to offer two multi-day courses on project-based, integrated instruction at our waterfront campus in Port Clyde.
This July we are running two sessions of our very popular Introduction to Aquaponics course and, for the first time, a new course on Classroom Quests with Steve Glazer, a nationally renown place-based education trainer.
Both courses provide you with detailed instruction in how to successfully run an engaging classroom project that integrates language arts, science, math and/or social studies.
Our 2.5-day, 15 hour Aquaponics course introduces you to an indoors, equipment-oriented project that enables you to weave lessons in life and physical sciences together with math and language arts.
Our three-day, 25 hour Questing course is an outdoors, community- and place-oriented project that enables you to integrate writing and research skills with science, social studies and math.
