Marine Science Day Camps
for ages 5 to 13
Join us in our 8th year of summer camps at Herring Gut Learning Center! Our action-packed one day programs provide children ages 5 to 13 with a field-based marine science education combining just the right amount of facts with fun. The programs, which are customized to three different age groups, cover a wide range of marine ecosystems using a hands-on approach to learning. Campers spend time at both the HGLC campus and in the field at various marine locations. A typical day includes crafts and activities related to each program topic, lunch at the beach, salt marsh, or beside a tidal pool, and of course specimen identification, collection, and examination making use of the variety of scientific equipment available at the center. Families are welcome to join in directly following the program to explore our hatcheries and marine science area, or sign up for one of our new family camp adventures. Exciting programs, activities, and field sites all add up to a memorable coastal experience this summer. Sign up for one day, or many, as we aspire to instill curiosity and good stewardship of the ocean in a new generation of young people.
Camp runs from 9am to 3pm unless otherwise stated.
